Students will be able to develop both an understanding of relevant economic and business concepts and theories and the ability to apply them to a range of relevant economic and business concepts, theories and real world issues. The teaching approach is very investigative in style. Through an examination of contemporary business and economic case studies students will learn to use the language of business and economics to explain real world phenomena.

The focus is on the awareness that economic and business behaviour can be studied from the perspectives of a range of stakeholders including customers, managers, creditors, owners/shareholders, employees and society. This very human approach to the study of the strengths and weaknesses of the market economy makes the course an interesting and challenging choice for students.
