Welcome from the Headteacher
I have to say that my job as Headteacher gives me endless moments of professional joy and I am truly privileged to have this opportunity to share Coundon Court with you.
The staff who have chosen to work at Coundon share the same dream…we want to make a difference to you and your child.
Our main focus is on your child and creating magic moments for them but we also want to get to really know you too, as everyone, regardless of age, needs to be made to feel special and important! When you can make people feel good about themselves it has a ripple effect. If people don't feel it is possible to do better then we will not make a difference however hard we try. Our young people and their families believe that learning is relevant to them and has something worthwhile to offer. They feel in control of their own lives, confident in themselves, their community and their future. If you have the heart and the motivation you can achieve anything. At Coundon we specialise in optimism!
Whilst we agree that passing exams is very important and our students do exceptionally well, we think schooling should also be about learning for life and enjoyment. It's not just what we do at Coundon but how we do it that makes the difference. Coundon Court 'feels' different! There is a definite atmosphere of anticipation and excitement.
When people have fun they are happier, when they are happy they learn better, so at Coundon we make learning a really fun process! We dare to be a little different and what a difference it has made! We are big and bold and we make things happen because we believe in them. With energy, passion and determination everything in life becomes real and possible. It's then simply a question of how far we all want to take things.
I am fortunate to work with a team of staff who always give 'that little bit extra' and who are dedicated to our young people, we have students who are nearly always a delight and never fail to lighten up our day and we have parents who trust in us and work with us. What more could I ask for as the Headteacher?
Coundon Court will continue to dream and be creative and we will continue to give our young people and their families the very best of what we are capable of giving!
We know we are already considered to be an excellent school by our community, by the Local Authority and by Ofsted but we know we can become phenomenal! These are very exciting times at Coundon and we hope you will join us on our journey to even greater successes!
